Heartgard Plus is indicated for use in dogs to prevent canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae for a month (30 days) after infection, and for the treatment and control of roundworms and hookworms.

How Heartgard Plus works
Heartgard Plus prevents canine heartworm disease by eliminating the tissue stage of heartworm larvae (Dirofilaria immitis) for a month (30 days) after infection and for the treatment and control of ascarids (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina) and hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, Uncinaria stenocephala, Ancylostoma braziliense).
How can you properly administer Heartgard Plus?
Heartgard Plus (ivermectin/pyrantel) should be administered orally at monthly intervals at the recommended minimum dose level of 6 mcg of ivermectin per kilogram (2.72 mcg/lb) and 5 mg of pyrantel (as pamoate salt) per kg (2.27 mg/lb) of body weight. The recommended dosing schedule for the prevention of canine heartworm disease and for the treatment and control of ascarids and hookworms is as follows:

Heartgard Plus is recommended for dogs 6 weeks of age and older. For dogs over 100 lb use the appropriate combination of these chewables.
What are the precautions in using Heartgard Plus?
All dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infection before starting treatment with Heartgard Plus which is not effective against adult D. immitis. Infected dogs must be treated to remove adult heartworms and microfilariae before initiating a program with Heartgard Plus. While some microfilariae may be killed by the ivermectin in Heartgard Plus at the recommended dose level, Heartgard Plus is not effective for microfilariae clearance. A mild hypersensitivity-type reaction, presumably due to dead or dying microfilariae and particularly involving a transient diarrhea, has been observed in clinical trials with ivermectin alone after treatment of some dogs that have circulating microfilariae.

Affordable worm medication
This is the best worm medication out there. It is really affordable.My dog eats the tablet quickly when taken each month.I wouldn't order from anybody other than Pet Shed. Thanks again

I have been using petshed for over 2 years now and every transaction and been smooth, with emails and confirmation numbers! I choose to use Heartgaurd Plus because it was recomemded to me and i would recomend it to YOU! Heartworm and Flee prevention combinded in a 2 an 1 i think are not effective... Thats why i choose to use them seperatly... and for my HeartWorm treatment i use HeartGuard Plus... My dog loves to recieve it she thinks its a treat..i test for heartworms and parasites twice a year at the vet and have never had anything come up..thats means this product does what it says it will do! A very good prodcut at a price you cant beat at PetShed!!!

It was nice to find a source for this important medicine for my dog - it was more cost effective than any other internet source - while planning ahead a little is not a problem as it took about 5 days to arrive.

okay!! so i just want to say i love love love this place! i had no idea about yall, and then i knew someone who ordered heartgard for her doggie from petshed! well, i have 3 dogs- a great dane "roxie" and a miniture dachschund "peanut" and a jack russel/dachschund "emmy lou" and i had to order 3 boxes of heartgard for them! i ordered there meds..and in 14 days they came..very fast to be overseas!! i am so amazed about yall and the customer service operators are the BEST!!! i will most def. order AGAIN when there heartgard runs out and yall have a customer for LIFE! i have told ALL my friends with pets and they have told there friends also!
