I switched to the generic Heartgard Plus for my dog a few months ago and it’s been great so far. The chewable tablets are really easy to give—my Cocker Spaniel eats them like a treat, so there’s no struggle trying to hide pills in food.
What I like most is that it covers a few things at once. It helps prevent heartworm and also takes care of common intestinal worms, which makes it a simple all-in-one monthly routine. I just mark it on my calendar and give it on the same day each month.
So far everything has been smooth, and it feels good knowing he’s protected without spending a fortune on the brand name version. For us it’s been a convenient and affordable way to stay on top of heartworm prevention.

My folks, and I have been using this medicine on our dogs for years. I was quite surprised when I found out they were also buying from PetShed. We are a western ran hung family and have been around livestock for generations. Previously, I was dosing swine/bovine ivermectin to our dogs to save a buck, but this medicine alleviates the dangerous micro-dosing of large-animal meds for dogs. For those of you having trouble, open your dog’s mouth, put the tablet on the back of the tongue, and push it back as far as you can with your index finger. It’s like using a balling gun on livestock!

The best for less! I have 4 dogs and this heartworm prevention I have been using for years and my fur kids have never tested positive for heart worm. I recommend it A++

I was nervous my picky dogs wouldn't eat these like they do with the regular Heartgard. No problem at all though. They take them and eat with no issues. I love that this is the same active ingredients and a lot lower price.

I have been using this product for over 15 years. Never have I had a positive heart worm test on my labradors. I will continue to use the product, as for finicky eaters, if peanut butter won't do the trick, it's your dime. I will use my savings on other things.
