This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals. Product ContainsGriseofulvin Dosage and AdministrationThe usual dose of microsize Griseofulvin is 25-50 mg/kg once or twice daily. This medication should always be given with a fatty meal. The course of treatment is usually prolonged, with 6 weeks or more being usual. Nail bed ringworm may require up to 5 months of treatment. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsGriseofulvin is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergy to the medication. It should not be used in animals with liver failure. It should not be used in pregnant animals as it is known to cause birth defects, particularly in cats. Griseofulvin has been associated with anorexia, vomiting diarrhea, anemia, low white blood cell counts, depression, skin sensitivity to light and liver damage.
