It is used in animals for this purpose also. This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals as at June 2006. Product ContainsMetoclopramide Hcl Dosage and AdministrationThe dose used is normally 0.2-0.4mg/kg three to four times daily. This may need to be increased in severe vomiting. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsThis drug should not be used in animals with a history of allergy to it. It should not be used in animals with any GI bleeding, blockage or perforation. It should be used with extreme caution in animals with a history of seizures. Changes in behavior are occasionally seen in both cats and dogs being treated with this medication. Both species can also develop constipation. Atropine and narcotic pain killers may negate the effects of metoclopramide. Because of it’s effects in speeding the movement of the gut, it may affect the absorption of other drugs given by mouth. The nervous effects of this drug can be increased if it is given in conjunction with other sedatives. StorageStore at a controlled room temperature between 59-86°F (15-30°C). Protect from light.
