Product ContainsDiphenhydramine Dosage and AdministrationThe most common dosage used in cats and dogs is 2-4mg/kg every 8-12 hours. There is some variability depending on the purpose of the product. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsDiphenhydramine should not be used in animals with a history of allergies to this medication, or other similar antihistamines. Sedation is a common side effect of this medication. This medication should be used with caution in animals with glaucoma, prostatic enlargement, obstruction of the GI or urinary tract, lung or heart disease, elevated blood pressure or an overactive thyroid gland.
