Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsTerbutaline is contraindicated in animals which are allergic to it. It should be used with caution in animals with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid gland or a history of seizures. The side effects of this medication can include an increased heart rate, tremors, nervousness and dizziness. This drug may interact with other medications which act on the sympathetic nervous system, as well as tricyclic anti-depressant drugs, digitalis glycosides, MAO inhibitors (such as selegiline or amitraz) or inhalant anesthetics, so it should be used with caution in conjunction with these.
