It should be used with caution in dogs with congestive heart failure, diabetes, an overactive thyroid or kidney disease. This medication may decrease the heartrate and blood pressure dramatically. It may interact with other drugs acting on the airways, blood vessels and heart, so use with caution in conjunction with these medications.
