Product ContainsSolution of 0.015% triamcinolone acetonide Dosage and AdministrationAdminister twice daily for seven days, once daily for the next seven days, then every other day for an additional 14 days (28 days total).Apply sufficient pump sprays to uniformly and thoroughly wet the affected areas while avoiding run-off of excess product, as directed by your veterinarian. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsUser Safety: Wear gloves when applying the product. Spray in a well ventilated area. Avoid getting the spray in dog’s eyes. If the spray causes irritation to mucous membranes, discontinue use. Adverse events reported in dogs in association with this product include excessive drinking and eating and blood cell changes, as well as aversion/discomfort, sneezing and watery eyes. The safety of this product for dogs less than eight pounds or for dogs less than one year of age has not been evaluated. The safety of this product in breeding, pregnant or lactating dogs has not been evaluated. The safety of long term or repeated use of this product (greater than 28 days) has not been evaluated There is some evidence that corticosteroids (such as triamcinolone) can be absorbed after topical application and cause systemic effects. Cushing’s syndrome has been reported in association with prolonged or repeated corticosteroid therapy in dogs. Inhibition of the body’s own steroid production following withdrawal of the drug may occur. Corticosteroids may induce the first stage of the birth process if used during the last trimester of pregnancy and may precipitate premature labor, which may be associated with complications. Additionally, corticosteroids administered to dogs, rabbits and rodents during pregnancy have resulted in birth defects in the young. Administration of recommended dose beyond 7 days may result in delayed wound healing. Animals treated for longer than 7 days should be monitored closely. If hypersensitivity to this product occurs, discontinue treatment and contact your veterinarian. In the presence of dermatological infections, use of an appropriate antifungal or antibacterial agent should be instituted. If a favorable response does not occur promptly, the corticosteroid should be discontinued until the infection has been adequately controlled.
