It should be used with caution in cats where disease is secondary to viral disease (such as Herpes virus). This product may worsen the course of disease where fungal or viral causes are present. There is some evidence that corticosteroids (such as prednisolone) can be absorbed after topical application and cause systemic effects, so patients should be monitored for increased drinking, eating or urination while being treated with this medication.
