This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals currently. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsThis medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of allergies to it. It should be used with caution in males with enlarged prostate glands, animals with severe heart failure, certain types of glaucoma, or blockages of the bladder or stomach. It should also be used with caution in pregnant and lactating females as safety has not been established in these cases. Clemastine may cause sedation in treated animals, or may cause hyperactivity. Some animals, particularly dogs, experience effects such as a dry mouth, increased heartrate, increased body temperature after treatment. In cats, diarrhea may occur. Clemastine may add to the sedation seen with medications such as phenobarbital, clomipramine and other tranquillizers.
