It is occasionally used in animals for the same purpose. Product ContainsDesmopressin Dosage and AdministrationUse as directed by your veterinarian. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsDesmopressin is contraindicated in animals allergic to it. It should not be used in animals susceptible to excessive blood clotting. Overdosages of this medication may cause fluid retention and a relative excess of sodium in the body. Safety during pregnancy is not known. If this medication is given in conjunction with chlorpropamide, carbemazepine clofibrate or fludrocortisone, these may increase the effects of desmopressin. If it is given with lithium, epinephrine heparin or demeclocycline, these may interact with desmopressin to decrease its effectiveness. StorageStore at controlled room temperature, 68 to 77 degrees F, (20 to 25 degrees C) away from moisture and light. Do not store in the bathroom.
