View other items in the same category as Muricin ointment Product UsesMuricin ointment is indicated for the topical treatment of bacterial infections of the skin in dogs, including superficial pyoderma, caused by susceptible strains of bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus intermedius. Product Containsmupirocin Dosage and AdministrationApply Muricin twice daily to the affected area. Cleanse the lesion prior to application of Muricin and apply a sufficient amount of ointment to completely cover the infected area. Maximum duration of treatment should not exceed 30 days. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsThis drug is contraindicated in animals with a history of sensitivity reactions to any of its components. Safety of use in pregnant or breeding animals has not been determined. Do not use Muricin in eyes. The base of the ointment contains polyethylene glycol, which is potentially toxic to kidneys, so care should be taken if using Mucicin to treat extensive deep skin lesions as absorption of large quantities of polyethylene glycol is possible. No adverse reactions have been reported with this product. If a skin reaction such as irritation should occur, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate therapy instituted.
