This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals currently. Product ContainsPiroxicam Dosage and AdministrationThe dose normally used in pets is 0.3mg/kg once daily, or every other day. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsPiroxicam should not be used in animals with a history of allergies to this or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. This medication has the potential to cause severe stomach ulcers, kidney damage and bleeding disorders in pets. The margin of safety is narrow. Use in cats is poorly documented. This medication should be used with extreme caution in association with other medications which can damage the kidneys, the stomach or interfere with blood clotting.
