This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals currently. Product Containsfluconazole Dosage and AdministrationThe dose varies depending on the location and type of fungal infection being treated. Dose as instructed by your veterinarian. The suspension should be reconstituted with 24mL water provided and well shaken to ensure even dispersal of the medication through the suspension. Warnings, Side Effects and Drug InteractionsFluconazole should not be used in patients with a history of allergy to this or other azole antifungal medications (e.g ketoconazole, itraconazole). It should be avoided in patients with liver disease and used with caution in animals with kidney disease. Safety in pregnant animals has not been established. Side effects occasionally reported with this medication include digestive upsets, including vomiting, diarrhea, nausea and loss of appetite. In humans, skin problems and a decrease in platelet numbers, leading to potential clotting problems have been reported, but these clinical signs have not been reported to date in animals treated with this medication. If given in conjunction with heparin, this medication may further increase the blood clotting time. It may also increase the levels of oral diabetic medications, such as glipizide, so care should be taken that this will not result in an excessive decrease in the animal's blood sugar levels. StorageStore tablets at a controlled room temperature between 59-86°F (15-30°C) and store suspension between 41-86 F (5-30 degrees C). Keep container tightly closed. Do not freeze.
