Product Uses
Hydroxyzine is an antihistamine for humans, which is used for treating allergic conditions, especially those that involve the skin, suck as hives, itching and rashes. It is also an anti-anxiety medication. It is occasionally employed by veterinarians to treat allergies in pets, particularly atopy. This product is not licensed for use in animals, however there is no equivalent drug available for use in animals currently.

Dosage and Administration
The usual dose in dogs is 1mg/lb and in cats 0.5-10.mg/lb (or 5-10mg/cat) two to three times daily.
Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions
The drug is contra-indicated in animals with glaucoma, lung disease, heart disease, high blood pressure or enlargement of the prostate gland. The medication may interact with other medications pets are taking, such as barbiturates, tranquillizers and epinephrine. The most common side effects of hydroxyzine are sedation, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea and a loss of appetite.
Should any signs of intolerance to hydroxyzine occur in your pet, discontinue therapy and contact your veterinarian for advice.
Storage
Store at a controlled room temperature between 59-86°F (15-30°C).
