Information about Program Suspension
Program Suspension is designed to control flea populations in cats and kittens. Program contains an insect development inhibitor, which controls flea populations at the egg stage. This oral medication has no effect on adult fleas but acts immediately to break the flea life cycle by preventing eggs from developing into adults. Adult fleas ingest the medication from the pet's bloodstream when they bite treated pets, so any eggs they lay have an abnormal shell and will not hatch. Future generations of fleas are eradicated. However, larval and adult fleas present at the time of dosing may continue to emerge and bite pets for up to 60 days, so Program may be safely used in conjunction with another flea medication effective in killing adult fleas to protect pets during this intial period. For best results, all animals in the house should be treated with Program.
Program Suspension is so easy to use - simply add the liquid contents of the tube to wet food once each month and watch kitty chow down on the medicated food. Program is safe to use in kittens from 6 weeks of age. No special storage conditions are required for Program Suspension, it be stored at room temperature, between 59 and 86°F (15-30°C). Each pack contains 6 tablets, suitable for a full 6 months of treatment. There are two color-coded packs, formulated to suit cats of all weights: orange - for Cats up to 10 lbs and green - for Cats 11 - 20 lbs.

Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions
As Program does not kill adult fleas, it may be necessary to give Program in conjunction with a product effective against adult fleas during the first few months of treatment, or where animals are constantly exposed to reinfestation by fleas. For best results, Program treatment should be started a few weeks prior to the commencement of the "flea season" until the end. Note that this may be year-round in many parts of the US. Initially, it may also be necessary to treat the pet's environment also to remove larval flea stages. If there is more than one pet in the household, ensure all are treated with Program.
The product has a high safety margin, however vomiting, a loss of appetite, diarrhea, breathing problems, depression and skin reactions have rarely been seen after administration of this product. Should any reaction occur in your pet, contact your veterinarian for advice.
