Product Uses

Interceptor is an oral tablet that is used to prevent heartworm disease, control adult hookworms and remove and control adult roundworm and whipworm infections in dogs.

Product Contains

Each tablet contains: MILBEMYCIN OXIME

Dosage and Administration

Dose one tablet monthly, preferably on the same date. The tablet can be given by hand as a treat, offered in food or given as for other tablet medications. Ensure that the dog consumes the whole dose.

Heartworm is transmitted via mosquitoes, therefore the first dose of Interceptor should be given within one month of the start of the mosquito season and monthly until the end of the season for effective heartworm prevention.

Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions

Interceptor can be used safely on puppies over four weeks of age and 2 pounds in weight. Dogs should be tested for existing heartworm infections prior to commencing Interceptor if they have not been on previous heartworm control as allergic reactions can occur if the product is given to animals with an active heartworm infection.

On rare occasions, the following adverse effects have been observed in animals dosed with Interceptor: depression, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea, salivation, weakness, unsteadiness, loss of appetite or seizures. Should any adverse effects be noted during treatment, Interceptor should be discontinued and a veterinarian contacted for assistance.

Storage

Store tablets in a dry place at controlled room temperature, between 59-86°F (15-30°C).
