Beckham's pets facing the boot

A Yorkshire Terrier similar to Posh Spice's 'Twiggy'...

LOS ANGELES, California: The Beckhams have arrived - and America may never be the same again.

Yet while US soccer fans everywhere have opened their arms to David, Victoria and their family of football royalty, the same can't be said of Victoria to the Beckham canines, according to reports.

The Beckhams - soccer superstar David Beckham, Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham and their three young sons, moved to America after David signed a contract with major league soccer team Los Angeles Galaxy. The contract reportedly gives Beckham one million dollars a week in salary and endorsements, plus a share of club profits. The famous couple has purchased a new $22 million Beverly Hills mansion with ten security guards, some pretty well-known neighbors like Mr and Mrs Tom Cruise... and reportedly a 'no more pets' policy.

According to newspaper The Sun, the Beckhams are planning to put Twiggy, their Yorkshire terrier into a 'boot camp' because, as the former Spice Girl puts it, "..it keeps peeing and pooing everywhere." Twiggy is still in US quarantine since arriving from Madrid, Spain, where Beckham previously played for Real Madrid. The former Posh Spice admitted that she wasn't really keen on bringing their dog along when they moved. But the Beckham children's affection for the Yorkie prevailed and Twiggy won a reprieve. However, the unfortunate Twiggy will be straight into 'boot camp' if Victoria Beckham has her way.

Dogs such as Twiggy which display unfortunate 'habits' can be put into doggy 'boot camp' for potty training, and correction of other unsocial or destructive habits which owners may find annoying.

Prior to their wedding in 1999 David and Victoria purchased matching Rottweiler puppies for Christmas, naming the dogs Snoop and Puffy. In an interview with netcom.uk, Victoria revealed that the two Rottweilers had also been sent to boot-camp 'school' to be trained "because they got into naughty habits." Two years after buying the dogs, it was rumored that the Beckhams had disposed of the Rottweilers following fears that the dogs might be jealous of their eldest son, Brooklyn, and attack him.

Following a series of highly-publicized dog attacks on small children early this year in the UK, Victoria allegedly asked her husband to get rid of their Rottweilers for fear that they would attack the junior Beckhams. However, according to K9 magazine, David stood his ground and insisted that his 'little fellas' were there to protect the family. Since then, Beckham spin doctors have denied the reports.

Twiggy's upcoming trip to doggy boot camp may once again put Victoria Beckham pet ownership habits under the spotlight - and pet lovers the world over will be sure to keep a close eye on the Beckham pet brood.

I always thought that Posh Spice was the hottest chick in the spice girls. knowing that she's not one big fan of dogs, that is less points for her!

David Beckham is just oozing with hotness and sex appeal. What's sexier is that he is a big animal lover. Too bad he ended up with posh spice who seems not to like animals too much.

WELL, im not exactly surprised.. the lady can sure smile more often.. she looks tough!

this posh spice is really a hot chic but unfortunately she's not a dog lover. i read somewhere that people who love pets make the perfect parents. i wonder how she treats her kids?

*gasp* poshie, how COULD you?!

i didn't realize david beckham makes $52 million a year. on top of endorsements and other deals! victoria's got her own thing going on with her fashion line and other projects. posh indeed, huh?

posh has always been my favorite spice girl! but i wish she could keep her dogs. or at least be more pet-friendly :)

Melrose Clement's picture

in fairness to posh spice i think she definitely treats her sons better.. she looks like she's a real devoted mom..

Back when the spice girls were still popular, that Posh girl never looked friendly. in fact, she looked like a mean lady! It's no surprise that she's not a dog lover.

what a disappointment! she may be pretty and all but in my book but if you're not an animal lover then that leaves much to be desired for.

They should not be allow to have such a big house if they don't know how to train the dogs, how are they going to keep a big house.

not being a big fan of dogs dont make her a bad person ryt? i still love posh spice

i just have one thing to say. if you cant take care of your pet well, DON'T get one. i hate people like this.

Yorkies are such adorable little dogs. One look at you with their beady eyes is enough to make your heart melt. That posh has a heart of stone. Her yorkies cuteness are not enough to make her forgive them. Just goes to show that she is really not an animal lover.

Randy Massey's picture

chill its just boot camp. they dont kill no dogs in the boot camp

Tanya Saunders's picture

how can she be so cruel to those dogs? i understand where she's coming from but there are other options than just getting rid of them.

Amelia Bowman's picture

she's just sending em to doggy boot camp! its not lyk she's going to have em killed or something, we dont even know the whole story behind it and ur judging her ryt away. really its not lyk wer perfect pet owners here

Hey, cut the girls some slack! Looking at it in a different angle, at least she loves her kids and she puts her family first ahead of everything else! For all we know, boot camp may just be a training school. Nothing wrong with that. And it's nice that she's doing that for the betterment of the dogs. and yeah, they don't kill dogs in bootcamp!

i don't think she's all that bad. I mean, she's just looking after her family. What would make her bad is that she neglected her kids coz the dogs were more important.
