Pets make move on Playboy Bunnies

This Bunny shows more leg than the rest.

LOS ANGELES, California: When you mention animal charities many people's eyes start to glaze over. But what you add PlayBoy bunnies? Oh, and the chance to party at the Playboy Mansion? Bow wow wow to that!

Much Love Animal Welfare held its annual fundraising on July 14 at Hugh Hefner's Playboy Mansion. Proceeds from the $500-a-head function, as well as separate donations, helped to raise over $200,000 for the Much Love volunteer-run animal rescue - more than twice the amount donated the previous year. In fact tickets to the event were reportedly sold out weeks in advance, with the street value of a ticket hitting four figures.

Much Love is a volunteer-run organization specializing in rescuing stray animals, rehabilitating them, and finding them suitable, caring homes. Celebrities such as Bob Saget, Billy Baldwin, Tori Spelling, Sara Ramirez and William Peterson; actress Hilary Duff and professional dog trainer Cesar Millan set foot on the famous 6-acre property.

Guests took a dip in the grotto while enjoying drinking martini -- shaken, stirred, whatever they wanted. Visitors also visited the game room and checked-out the private zoo to play with some bunnies - Playboy bunnies, mind you.

The biggest-ticket items at the auction were the three Cesar Millan private training sessions, which each fetched $12,000. Boxing gloves signed by Muhammed Ali went for $10,000, while one well-heeled guest paid $6000 for the chance to 'shadow' acclaimed director Wolfgang Petersen on the set of his next movie.

Mind you, if someone would pay $300 for a can of dog food, perhaps these guests' generosity is not so surprising.

Any donation to Much Love is money well spent: you've helped saved cats and dogs, and the donation is tax deductible.

Doing good has never been this hot and sexy. The good guys get to win after all.

Wow, why didn't I get an invite to this one?
