American celebutante Paris Hilton has reportedly turned her back on Prada as of the 13th of February 2008. At the end of January, the hotel heiress dropped her pet feline “Prada” off to a veterinary clinic and allegedly forgot all about it. The clinic promptly contacted and returned the animal to the Kris Kelly Foundation from which Paris adopted the cat, informing them of the mishap.

Kris Kelly has stated that she has no plans of giving the cat back to Paris since, as far as the foundation is concerned, it was abandoned. She further says that she has done everything in her power to contact the socialite, but no response was received from Paris. “This is a clear-cut case of abandonment," she commented after Paris failed to answer her calls.

Paris and the Kris Kelly Foundation had been in talks of working closely together on a much larger scale. Paris’ reps say the cat was supposed to be delivered to one of the socialite's friends and that this fiasco is simply a publicity stunt pulled off by Kris Kelly because of a falling out.

Paris adopted Prada from the foundation in May of 2006 – a week before she was incarcerated for parole violations. Despite being told upon her release that the cat needed neutering, the socialite only organized the procedure a few weeks ago.

Apart from her pet cat Prada, Paris also has two Chihuahuas, a Rottweiler, ferret, goat, and kinkajou. With these many pets, she admits she lets her staff look after most of them. Paris says, "I only take care of the two Chihuahuas because they live with me. The others are taken care of by a housekeeper."

Though Paris owns many pets, the general public adamantly denounces her as an animal lover. In 2005, she was named Worst Dog Owner of the Year for treating pets like fashion accessories.
