Generic Droncit Tapeworm Tabs for Cats & Kittens
Information About Generic Droncit Tapeworm Tabs for Cats & Kittens
Tapeworm infection is one of the most common internal parasite problems actually observed by cat owners. The presence of tapeworms is indicated by the presence of whitish rice-like tapeworm segments passed with the feces. Segments may also be found on the hair around the anus of the animal, or occasionally on the animal's bedding. Cats become infected with tapeworms after eating fleas or small rodents which are infected with tapeworm larvae. Generic Droncit tapeworm tablets will remove the common tapeworms, Dipylidium caninum and Taenia taeniaeformis, from cats and kittens.
Generic Droncit Tapeworm Tabs for Cats & Kittens are sized for easy oral administration to either adult cats or kittens. The product is safe for use in kittens from 6 weeks of age. Generic Droncit Tapeworm Tabs contain the same ingredient, praziquantel, as the original branded product, so you can be sure when you use this product that it will be safe and effective in treating your pet's tapeworm problems, but at a price which will not hurt your wallet.

Dosage and Administration
Generic Droncit may be given directly in the mouth or crumbled and mixed with the food. If given with food, mix the tablet(s) with a small amount of the animal's usual ration. If all of the tablet(s) is/are not eaten, the tablets may not remove all tapeworms.
The recommended dosage of praziquantel varies according to body weight. Smaller animals require a relatively larger dosage because of their higher metabolic rate. The optimum dose for each individual animal will be achieved by utilizing the following dosage schedule for cats and kittens: 4lbs and under: 1/2 a tablet; 5-11lbs: 1 tablet; over 11lbs:1 1/2 tablets. The recommended dosage is not affected by the presence or absence of food in the gastrointestinal tract. It is not necessary to fast animals prior to administration of Generic Droncit.
For those animals maintained on premises where reinfections are likely to occur, steps should be taken to prevent reinfection; otherwise, retreatment may be necessary. In flea tapeworm ( Dipylidium caninum) infections, reinfection is almost certain to occur if fleas are not removed from the animal and its environment.
