Capstar Flea Control

Information about Capstar Tablets

Capstar tablets are an oral treatment for the treatment of adult flea infestations on dogs, puppies, cats and kittens 4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of bodyweight or greater. A single dose of Capstar will start to work within 30 minutes. It kills more than 90% of adult fleas on dogs within 4 hours and within 6 hours on cats. Capstar does not provide prolonged protection against reinfestation. Its efficacy lasts only up to 24 hours. If pets become reinfested with fleas, they may be safely dosed as often as once daily. All pets should be treated for the best flea control as fleas can reproduce on untreated pets and allow the infestation to continue. Capstar is ideally used as part of a complete flea management program.

Capstar tablets are lethal to fleas but extremely safe for pets. Capstar may be used in young animals from 4 weeks of age and older and 2 pounds of bodyweight or greater and in pregnant or breeding canines and felines. It can be safely used in conjunction with most common medications used in pets, including other flea products, heartworm preventives and dewormers.

Capstar is available in two strengths for different weights of pets: blue for cats and dogs weighing 2 - 25 lbs and green for dogs weighing 25.1 - 125 lbs. All packs contain 6 Capstar tablets.

Great Product

This product has worked great for my dogs. So much easier than having to hold them still and apply the liquid repellent. And of course the best part no fleas!

Capstar is The Star
Oct 12, 2011

My home was seemingly suddenly infested with fleas. The 4 cats here were so uncomfortable they couldn't sleep and didn't want to come inside. I bought some professional carpet sprays and some Capstar for the cats. That stuff is amazing. I didn't see fleas falling off the cats, but in one hour they were barely scratching. By next day they were all willing to come in and go to sleep. As far as I could tell, there was no other effect than flea death. And the fleas have NOT returned in 5 weeks either.

Great at Reducing Population

Capstar worked great for immediately reducing the flea population. I only tried it for one week, hoping I could follow up with topical. I suggest just sticking with the Capstar!

The cat's meow

I rehomed 2 5week old kittens. Both were so infested with fleas they were bleeding. One half pill eliminated 75-80% of the fleas. Two days later another half pill and fleas were completely gone. 2 weeks later I gave them another pill..that was 8 weeks ago and I have not seen a flea .
