Product Detail: Canex Allwormer
Canex Allwormers are used for control of roundworms (Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina), hookworms (Ancylostoma caninum, A. braziliense, Uncinaria stenocephala), whipworm (Trichuris vulpis), and tapeworms, including the hydatid tapeworm (Echinococcus granulosus, Dipylidium caninum, Taenia sp) in dogs. This product does not prevent heartworm disease.
When worming, it is recommended that all dogs and cats in the household are treated at the same time. Fasting animals prior to dosing is not necessary. Canex may be offered before or after a meal, or mixed in food or dosed by hand. The tablets may be crushed and sprinkled on food. The cube is very palatable and 90 to 95% of dogs will take it as a treat.
Warnings, Side Effects and Drug Interactions: Canex may be given to all classes of dogs including old animals, young puppies, working dogs, greyhounds, and pregnant or lactating bitches. It may be combined with other treatments such as heartworm prevention and flea or tick treatments.
Dosage and Administration: Weigh animals prior to treatment and round the dose up to the nearest half or whole tablet or cube. Pups should be treated at 2, 4, 8 and 12 weeks with Canex Allwormers or Canex Puppy Suspension, then every three months throughout life, or every six weeks in hydatid infested areas. Under heavy parasitic pressure, worm control in dogs may require more frequent treatments, as directed by a veterinarian. Pregnant females should be treated at mating, before whelping and then every three months.
