Heart worm medicine

Hi - New to the forum and getting ready to place my first order. Was wondering about the generic heartworm medicine and the generic wormer that is offered for the dogs. Tired of paying out the nose for Sentinel, etc. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

regarding the generic heartworm disease and wormer, there are some good products here - heard about Revolution and Heartgard?

Yeah - but I see that Pet Shed offers a generic Heartgard (blue) and a generic wormer. Just wondering if anyone has used these?

I haven't used it but I heard the generic wormers work just as effective, protecting dogs against many kinds of intestinal worms like roundworms, whipworms. maybe you might want to try

hey, my parents use generic wormers for our golden retriever. they say these products work well and the good thing is that, they cost less than the branded ones. quite practical, really.

yes it's practical but i'm the type who doesn't want anything less for my dog. if you can afford it, then buy the popular brands like Revolution because they seem more worthy buy than generic wormers. Cool

i think, just to be safe, buy the branded one. i don't have anything against generic heartwormers but i have had a bad experience with a generic product before. branded heartwormers like heartgard or revolution are proven and vet-recommended so they're the better buy.

there's little difference between generic heartwormers and branded ones. the former tends to be cheaper. i haven't use generic heartwormers before, so i can't vouch for their effectiveness. Smile

opt for the branded ones, i think they are guaranteed effective than generic heartwormers.

Hi, just wanna say that i have a friend who uses Revolution. She says nice things about the medication, I think she gives it to her pet once a month.

I'm used to giving my dogs known brands, they're time-tested to work, what do you think?

I've been using the generic ivermectin for years and have had no problems. Compare the ingredients. I also take generic meds myself! Smile

generics are safe but i believe you get more peace of mind with branded medicines. these companies invested more in research for their meds.

I will never use out of the country heartworm preventative medicines again - either generic or brand. I have used the generic brand for many years and now, my 10 year old Sheltie has been tested positive for heartworm pills. Pay the extra and by the medicine from your local vet.
