I'm just curious, folks. Can you walk a cat on a leash?

| That's kinda weird. Cats aren't meant to be walked. Dogs are. |

| you can make a cat wear a leash but i doubt if you can make it walk on that. cats are not dogs. they don't like to be tied and led by another. |

I agree. Though it would seem like a good idea, cats do not like being walked on a leash -- in fact, I don't think they like to be walked at all. Cats are very independent creatures. If they want to, they will take walks though not necessarily with you |

i don't think you'll be able to make a cat walk on a leash. and, i agree, they don't want to be led. i believe cats think they are too dignified for this. |

| You can walk a cat on a leash, but not all cats. Only very tame and comfortably stable cat can be walked on that. |

| i guess it depends on the cat. i mean, bigger cats like tigers are put on a leash, aren't they? |

haha yes harvey and isabella, it depends on the kind and size of the cat.
but I don't make my Persian and Siamese cats wear leashes, though. I'm happy that they're quite behaved and easy to manage as they are. |

Case in point: Why aren't there leashes available for cats? |

| there are leashes for cats, Harvey. and there are also harnesses. for those who travel with their cat, what is recommended to use is a harness because it's more secure. |

Right Libby. there really are leashes and harnesses designed for cats. leashes can be a big help to us cat owners. these can help us manage and secure our cats easily when we go outdoors. |

i don't really know if leashes function for the sole purpose of walking the cats...i think they work just as a safety tool for keeping your cat with you, when you're outdoors. |

Really? Well, I can't really see myself using one, but hey, it's good to know we have that option. |

| exactly. i think leashes will save us from the pain of constantly worrying about our cats and having a hard time managing them when we're out. |
