Oh my, this is heartbreaking. What on earth was the artist thinking? I hope that his display would be the end of his career as an artist! Mad

that's the trouble with some of these artist types, they do something controversial hoping the buzz will get them recognition. it's a good thing pet lovers condemned this guy, there's no justification to what he did, not even that tired 'for art's sake'

I believe the artist's purpose was to show his aversion towards people who give their time and attention to dogs in shows and contests while failing to notice the starving dogs in the streets. He wanted to show these people what is happening to dogs without homes or owners.

Don't get me wrong, though; I still think what he did is sick and should not be done to dogs whatever the circumstances.

i agree with carlito. i think the message the artist is trying to put across is how hypocritical some pet owners/lovers can be. i mean, i know some people who claim to be pet lovers but don't actually care about animals in shelters or other animals for that matter. it's really sad. Crying or Very sad

If it were up to me, this artist would be tied to a post, starved, and displayed to the public to show my aversion towards pretentious people who pretend to care but go to these exhibits instead of helping the multitude of homeless people around them. Now that would be a work of art, right? Evil or Very Mad

whoa, irvin, chill! Laughing

i don't agree with what this artist did. it seems to me he's only after the publicity. publicity at the expense of a poor dog. tsk. makes you wonder what the world is coming to these days.
