| Beatrice, FAD means Flea Allergy Dermatitis. It's an allergic infection your dog gets from a flea's saliva. |

| My vet says Flea Allergy Dermatitis is characterized by a dog's excessive itching and rubbing of its skin. |

| i don't know a lot about flea allergy but i know it hurts our pet. our family dog used to have reddish brown spots on its skin and keeps on moving around, itching restlessly. good thing my parents and i were able to save it using flea treatments. |

| There are a lot of effective treatments but you should go check with the vet first just to be sure. |

| Does the dog's age got anything to do with its chances of getting fleas? |

| Dogs are more susceptible to flea infestation as they age because their immune system is not as strong as it used to. |

yeah. i think i read from an article here at pet shed that fleas hate healthy dogs. so if you want your pets to be flea-free, get them on a healthy lifestyle! |

dogs who are inflicted with FAD lose their hair, so if you have a long-haired pet, you have to be always on the lookout for fleas. otherwise, your pet might get FAD and lose all its hair. surely, you don't want that, do you? |
