| Does anyone have a Prairie Dog for a pet? I do. I live in Connecticut. USA How I came to own her, is a quite a story. |

| prairie dogs look like a cross between a hamster and a beaver. are they wild animals? don't really know much about them. |

yeah, tell us any anecdote cml! i never heard of anyone who had a prairie dog for a pet before. it's about time we heard a story from an actual owner!  |

i really got curious about prairie dogs and i saw this tidbit about them:
"These large squirrels emerge from their burrows in daylight to forage and feed on grasses, roots, and seeds. They communicate with loud cries. A warning cry, for example, will send a town's denizens hustling to their holes at the approach of a badger, coyote, or other predator. A second, "all-clear" call alerts the community when the danger has passed."
isn't that cool? |
