|
|
when I was 8 years old, my parents bought me my first dog. It was a Japanese Spitz. I named her Sushi coz of her breed. She was my best friend. She was with me until I was 18 years old. She developed a tumor in her leg. Because she was already a bit old that time, her immune system could not handle it anymore. She died in the hospital, on my arms. Though it has been 7 years, the pain still stabs me in the chest. I have new dogs now, but my sushi will always hold a special place in my heart...
My Sushi was my first dog, my first love. She was my best friend. I will never, ever forget her. She taught me how to love unconditionally. I love you Sushi. Someday, we will meet again.
RIP my dear best friend. |

| even after many years, it's still painful to remember our pets who have gone ahead of us. I know exactly how you feel Pauline. that's really how it is with loving dog owners like us. our dogs somehow become an extension of us and even after a long time, they still remain in our hearts and minds. at least now for both of us, we have other dogs who we equally love and devote our time to. my hat's off to you for being a good momma to all your dogs. |

I exactly know how you feel. Growing up, my family had a number of pets because my parents were breeders. I developed my love for dogs at a very young age. We had doggy deaths throughout the years and it was always painful. The pain never went away. but I learned never to stop loving dogs even if they are bound to go away sooner or later. The happines that your pooch brings you in his lifetime is well worth the pain in the end.
I am so glad that the pain did not stop you from opening your heart to other dogs. You are a good pet owner. |

| it's never easy to lose a much loved pet especially if it's been with you since it was a pup. i've had my own share of dogs who died of old age or sickness and i can tell you from experience that it never becomes easy. in fact, for me it even became harder through the years. even though so many years have passed, i still remember their crazy antics and one-of-a-kind behavior. i guess the only advice i can give is for you to continue caring for your dogs as best you could. you'll never know, we all might just see them again when it's our time to go. |

| I know. It's devastating. Time heals that aching they say. But I still miss my pooch Bambi. she had to be put to sleep due to organ failure. I was in grade school then. |

| i had a dog that was put to sleep, but i was too young to remember the details. all i remember was the vet telling dad that we have to let her go. She was a dachshund, an old one. Dad took her in even if she was old because she was still as frisky as a pup. |

I myself have lost a couple of puppies when I was a kid. My grandpa used to tell me they had gone to Dog Heaven and were having great fun in their new home.
I believed then that there really was a Dog Heaven.
Come to think of it, there must really be. |

| oh...that's so sad Pauline. it's really hard losing a very dear friend. I lost so many dogs before and I always felt my heart breaking each time one of them died. I felt so helpless. My last pet was a brown Shih Tzu, who died when she was just several months old...I wish the souls of our departed pets are in a heavenly place now... |

Yah i think so too. There must be a Dog Heaven, a place where all our departed pooches abound, well and alive. |

| as pet owners, the best thing we could do is to give our pets a taste of heaven while they are still in our midst, somehow, by doing so we'll get to taste a piece of heaven too. |

totally. that is why we have to make sure we give them the best that we can while they're still alive. life is short, let's make every second of their precious lives count. |
