A friend of mine is moving to a new apartment. Her problem is the landlord wouldn't allow her to have any pet...not even a cat!

She needs that apartment because it's the closest she could find to her office. Right now she's thinking of leaving her cat with her parents who live 3 hours away.

She's really feeling down today. What do you think I can do to help cheer up a cat lady like her?

Assure her that since she'll be leaving her cat to her parents, the little feline will be in the best care she can possibly leave her. She can still visit on the weekend. Smile

if your friend loves that dog so much, why not look for another apartment? if she can't really find one, then i guess it's time to leave the dog with her parents.

I live in an apartment where they allow pets. I really looked hard for this place. My suggestion to your friend is she do the same. I know how hard it is to be far from your pets. Good luck to her. Smile

Thanks guys for your suggestions. I already told my friend everything you said here but she's still leaving her cat with her parents. The apartment is really a great find, not that she values her cat less, but as she said, she can still visit on the weekends. Smile

Yes, there are apartments that don't allow pets within its walls. If looking for another apartment is out of the question, then the best choice is to leave her pet with her parents or a very close friend. She can take comfort in the fact that her pet is in good hands. Wink

Personally, I would look for another apartment if it were me.

me too. I can't live without my Charlie - he's my yellow Lab. I live on my own and my Charlie's the only one that keeps me company all the time.

I agree guys that any pet owner would prefer that their pet live with them but in this case, it's not that easy. She has to make a sacrifice of sort.

of course, it's better if your pet can live with you but if that can't be, i agree with harvey that the next best thing is have your pet live with people who will surely take care of your pet.

your friend's situation is really a matter of sacrifice. if she really has to live in that apartment to keep her job, then she has no other choice. at least she has her parents to take care of her cat. her pet is in good hands. Smile

i can understand why some landlords do not want pets in their apartments. so, we pet owners must see to it that wherever we live our pets will not be a "nuisance" to the other residents.

exactly. as pet owners, we should be fully responsible for our pets. we should always look out for them, so that they won't cause any trouble to our neighbors. Idea
