Just askin', what are the rights reserved for pets just in case their keepers die? Specifically, those pet whose owners are living alone with no immediate family members around.. are there institutions either public or private to take care of them the animals...

that's a serious issue that pet and animal rights advocates should care about.yeah, i think ther are shelter and rescue orgniztions and municipal pounds around. thing is, some of 'em euthanize pets when the place gets overcrowded.

maybe we should take a cue from the ancient egyptians. when the owner dies, the pets go with them. spare them the complicated dealings people make on who should care for the pet.

pet is euthanized just the same. well, that makes owner and pet partners in sickness and in health, death did not do them part..

I don't think I like that idea. I pity those pets who will have to be put down so they can join their masters in the afterlife.

Yeah, I think sending pets away with their late masters is a little extreme. I'd feel a lot comfortable if I knew someone would take care of my pet when I finally kick the bucket. I think there are institutions or organizations more than willing to give your pet a home when this time comes -- like Ahimsa House, for example.

i'd also like to have my pets adopted. it'll be perfect if they could go to another family member or a close friend. but an adoption house is fine rather than have them put down.

if i'm alone and i have pets, i'll make sure i'll include it in my last will and testament who gets them. i don't want them to go to just any adoption house.. i'm going to make sure that they go to a decent one where they will be well taken care of.

i think it's part of the owners' responsibilities to ensure that their pets will be taken cared for when the keepers die.

in the absence of any stipulation in the last will and testament concerning the pet's fate, the immediate relatives of the deceased pet owner should take responsibility over the surviving pet..

i totally agree. this will make sure that your beloved pets will still be looked after even when you're already in the after life.

it's a good thing we have adoption houses for pets now. i hate it when people die and they leave their pets behind without anybody to take care of them. these pets don't get fed or pampered enough anymore, so that they get sad and weak, and eventually die later on.

but not all adoption houses can accommodate pets. i've heard of adoption houses that we're forced to put down several animals because of overpopulation. that's just sad. Crying or Very sad

the thing is that there are not many adoption houses in the country. and overpopulation happens because a lot of people still prefer getting "new" pets than adopting one from the shelter.

really sad. i heard about this overpopulation problem before. i wish the pet owners can be more responsible, though. if they die, better make sure their pets have someone to take came of them instead of leaving them out neglected. Crying or Very sad
