Well, I guess it’s customary for us little newbies to introduce ourselves upon joining, so here it is. And since most seem to be using their actual names here in this forum, I could at least give my first name. Hello, this is Crystal and My Australian Cattledog, Sky and I hail from Oklahoma. Very Happy

Thanks for giving us the great welcome guys. I thought Sky was a good name too, although my Grandma was a bit skeptical about naming a girl dog that. I just thought that her fur reminded me of the sky when it was about to storm. One of her sisters was named Stormy. Sky gets along well with other dogs, although she’s not as rough and tumbles as in her young days. When we lived in the country her best dog friend was my uncle’s Australian cattledog, and man it was like doggie WWE. You didn’t have to see them to know where they were; just listen for the banging noises. You would never guess now that that she used to do that. She used to be fat because she was given too much food. And I feel bad because she spent a good chunk of her life like that, and I think it took some of the pep out of her. But I was about 12 and more ignorant then, and my dad didn’t think it was a big deal that she was fat. Now she’s all trim. The hardest part was getting everyone else to cooperate with her diet. Sky likes kitties too, although I think the cats were bigger fans of her then she of the cats. Living out in the country we had lots of kitties and I they got on well with Sky. They slept in the same dog house and everything. We would all go on walks, and if Sky and I went in different directions, guess who the cats went with? Well it wasn’t me, except when they wanted me to carry them of course. She’s good with kids too. Even when my niece was trying to poke her in the eye with a pencil and grabbing handfuls of skin, she took it all with good grace. We live in town now, but she’s still a country dog a heart and I try to get her to the local lake so that she can explore off leash. If I’m saying too much, you can just tell me to shut up please. I have nothing better to do after work. Razz

Hi crystal, how are you? That was a long post but i found it really funny and sweet at the same time! I think it was funny how the cats chose to follow Sky rather than you on your walks together.

I can't wait for more of your stories! Keep on posting!
