I live in FL and have a 25 pound 4 year old terrier mix. She is in excellent health however I found 2 "lonestar" ticks on her today. I removed them and saved in a plastic container but am trying to decide if I need to rush her to the vet in the morning to be tested for Lyme disease? Thank you for your suggestions, BBright

Welcome to the shed, bbright! Very Happy

From what I've read about lone star ticks, they are not known to transmit Lyme disease. However, I suggest you still consult your vet immediately just to be sure there isn't anything wrong with your pooch.

hey, hey bbright! Razz

we're also glad that you found this site! our group is growing rapidly and that's great!

Arrow anyway bbright, regarding the lonestar ticks thing, you know what I do whenever I have concerns about my pet, I just go straight to the vet. for me, seeking the help of the vet is the most right thing to do as pet owners, and i have never had any doubts about that, ever!
