it's because fleas begin to hatch and are most active during the early spring-summer period, which marks what is called the "flea" season. they can infest our pets during this time, which can last all year long depending upon the weather.

I found this article in the blogs section:

I think it's a must-read for everybody since summer is just around the corner.

thanks a lot carl! Smile i read the blog article you recommended. it advises great ideas for tick prevention. i have printed a copy of it for quick reference. i can certainly use it as a guide not only during this spring, but, i think, for summer, too.

You're very much welcome, Sofia! I read the blogs here at Petshed occasionally since I find it a very informative and helpful resource. The articles there are also quite entertaining.

fleas love the spring and summer months (just like i do! Laughing ) because they thrive in warm places. it is during this period that they reproduce. Cool

a vet told me that fleas develop if the humidity is more than 50 percent. so, flea population grows during summer when temperature and humidity are high.

during summer months, fleas lurking in the environment have better chances of feeding themselves coz pets and their keepers spend most of thier time outdoors.
