the other day emily my basset hound was soo hot i didnt know what to do. we had to wait for the vet! the wait was excruciating! i dont like the feeling that time is ticking and i could do somthing but i dont know what!
what is the best first aid for super high fever on dogs?? |

| what i usually just do is let yuki rest and feed her something light. i call the vet right away though.. |

oh, if the fever is really high like above 104 degrees F, call the vet immediately! i heard that high fever is really fatal for dogs. if it's quite low, constant monitoring, lots of water, etc. is good. but to be safe, call the vet. goodluck! let us know what happened to your basset ok? hope she's all better now.. |

Fever in dogs is quite similar to fever in humans. but if the fever's high, then it could be fatal for dogs. Yes, cold compress works well. It would cool the body and may lower the temperature. My best advise would be to go see a doctor as soon as possible. Hope your dog's alright by now.  |
