they already have a "famous dogs" thread here. so there's no reason we shouldn't make our own!
tell me all about the famous cats you know (either in fiction or in reality) from history, entertainment, etc.
i'll start with Bastet, who is the Egyptian cat-goddess of women, children, & the sun. |

This feline cartoon character has unprecented popularity for many decades now.
His name was partially derived from the Latin word for "lucky".
