cat lovers beware! your pet's internal chemical factory can't produce most of the essential vitamins and minerals, so you must help em hunt good nutrotion..cats can't naturally produce vit. a, niacin, arginine.

it's no good when cats miss a meal, well, just like anyone else..never allow felines to starve, they can't mobilize their fat reserves for energy efficiently.

it's good to hear of your cats hearty appetites. but remember to feed them just enough. i read that as underfeeding may lead to problems, so too will overfeeding. like obesity or even toxicity caused by excess in nutrients.

cats are just like humans too. they can get obese if we overfeed them. make sure all of us cat owners just give them the right amount of foods they need.

i read an article here on Pet Shed about obesity in dogs, i guess it can be related to cats too: http://www.petshed.com/blog/2008/03/19/obesity-in-dogs/.

your pet is getting adequate diet if it is active and alert, with healthy skin and fur, and has the proper weight.

This is good info, Daniel Shocked Thanks for this. I had no idea cats' bodies had this kind of deficiency. Do you mean to say that I need to give my cats food supplements or multivitamins in order to keep it healthy? Question

i think you can ask your vet about this. he/she can design a nutrition program for your pet.

cats are never picky with their food, that's why you need to be careful what you feed them because they just might eat anything that you give them! Shocked

although supplements and multivitamins can help my cats, i focus more on giving them healthy meals.

i get my cats to take food supplements so that they won't miss out on vital nutrients. come to think of it, most of our pets eat commercial foods, which are processed and stripped off their nutritional value. i think putting them on food supplements help. Cool

healthy meals are excellent for my cats but i think there's no harm in providing them supplements that would give them the extra boost they need. i recently used Pro-Vite Supplement for Cats, which provide my pets certain amounts of nutrients that food brought from the market may come short of.

I understand that a healthy diet will keep my beloved cat healthy, but I want to be sure so I still want to give it some supplements. Is the Pro-Vite Supplement for Cats any good, Regina? Question

i think the best supplement would be something that will boost your cat's immune system. probably a supplement that will improve your pet's overall well-being. i just don't know of any specific brand. i haven't really tried any supplement on my cat just yet.

yes, pro-vite simply works great for my cats. its label says it provides a wide range of vitamins, minerals, and essential amino acids such as Taurine and Arginine. since taking these, my cats seem more active and full of energy.

Isabella, if you're gonna use Pro-vite, I don't think you'll have a problem. It comes in a convenient powder form so you have the option to just mix it with your cat's food. Wink
