hello harvey. cats do get dandruff. i believe it's not something you should gravely be worried about. why don't you try giving omega 3 supplements to your cat. it helps in treating flaky skin.

you should start worrying about dandruff when your cat's scratching worsens. that's the time you go to the vet. i don't think shampoos alone will help.

Really? Thanks, Simon. Do omega 3 supplements really work? Where can I get them? Are they available here in the shed? Thanks and sorry if I'm asking too many questions at once.

Susie, now you got me worried again. Sad

Hey, hey, hey! Smile Omega 3 supplements are one of the most advised vitamins/supplements out there. Of course the usual fare still applies: Go ask your vet first.

Anyhoo... Pet Shed has some supplements here. Go check them out.

i think cats get dandruff either because of fleas or because of harsh shampoos.

that's why shampoos are not guaranteed solutions to dandruff. for all you know, they might even worsen the condition.

So if my cat has dandruff, I should change my shampoo or stop using it altogether?

i suggest you stop using that shampoo for the meantime to see whether or not your cat's dandruff problem will disappear. if the dandruff disappears, then the shampoo just might be the cause of it.

I checked the products section here in the shed and saw some "Therapeutic Shampoos and Conditioners". Maybe I'll try one of these. Thanks guys for your responses. Wish me luck! Wink
