I think my dog is infected with worms. Lately I have observed that it is becoming pot-bellied and seemed to tire easily. I have a strong feeling I may need to deworm him soon but this still depends on our scheduled trip to the vet next week. Can you recommend a good dewormer which my pet can use?

try panacur. this treats and controls roundworms, hookworms, whipworms and tapeworms.

well, it's really hard to recommend a dewormer when i don't know much about your dog. its size and age, for example. but, to give you an idea, you could look at the products here in petshed. also, here's a blog that could help you. i use canex for my dog.

Why don't you try Canex? It kills various intestinal worms.

Panacur and Canex are both very good and relatively safe suggestions. Of course, it would be better if we knew more about your dog, Edith so that we can be more specific.

Does the effectivity of wormers depend on a dog's breed? I mean, would there be difference if I used Canex on a Dachsund as opposed to using it on a Dalmatian? TIA.

i haven't heard of dewormers working effectively for one dog breed over than the other. i think maybe since it's made for dogs in general, it will cover all breeds.

i also haven't heard a dewormer being better for one breed than another. what i know is there are dewormers that can kill only certain worms while other dewormers can kill all.

hi doug. i also haven't heard of wormers having different effects depending on the dog breed. all i know of is that the wormers produce an effect only on the types of worms present in a dog. whatchathink? Wink
