i don't think that aggression is the direct result of aging. there are other health and behavioral problems that cats may suffer from when they grow old. some of these problems may cause the elderly cat to get irritated easily which may lead to aggression.

we used to have a cat who as he aged picked fights with our other cats. i was too young then to understand what's causing the aggression but maybe libby is right.

i used to remember my grandmum's old cat, shera, who is as mean as hell! she doesn't like me very much and would hiss at me whenever i come near her!
