just want to share with you a news i recently read. it's about a cat who has been reunited with its owner after missing for six years. Nikki Bayliss, from North London, last saw her pet when he was a kitten. a microchip, which identified the owner's address, was found in the cat while it was being treated for a dislocated hip. of course, Nikki warmly welcomed her lost pet.
well, i hope that all missing pet stories will end up this happily.

Now that's what you call destiny.
Where can I get one of these microchips? |

| inserting the microchip deep under the skin between the shoulder blade of your pet involves no surgery. the chip is embedded with the use of a large needle. so, most vet clinics can supply this service. but, keep in mind that collars and ID tags are still vital to finding a lost pet. |

| oh i like to get my pet its own microchip! can it be inserted in dogs too? my Shih Tzu already wears an ID collar though...and i'm always careful to keep an eye on him..I don't know if I still need a microchip but the idea sounds interesting. |

| yes, chips can also be inserted in dogs. well, from what i read these chips are useful especially for disputes involving animal ownership. |

| that is wonderful news for the origianl owner- but what happened to the second owner- i mean what if this cat just showed up or someone actually stole it and then sold it to the second owner! that would suck to have it that long and find out it was a missing cat, i mean i would definatly hand it over to the rightful owner but it would really bite the big one- ya know? |

that got me curious kellee. whatever happened to the second owner libby i'm sure it must suck to find out that your pet is not really yours in the first place. |

yes, it must suck having a pet but finding out that it isn't yours in the first place. if i was the original owner, i'd just give the cat away to its new owner. especially if the new owner really takes good care of my pet.
and besides, what kind of owner would let his/her pet missing for more than 6 years? |

| well, there was no update on the news so there's not much i can say about the second owner. but i agree, that is really must be painful for the second owner to hand over the cat to the original owner. well, if cats can only talk maybe this one would have told whom it prefers. |

| Yes, maybe if the cat could talk, it would say who it prefers to stay with. For me, though, if I were the first owner I just give my cat to the second owner especially if he/she has grown attached to it already. |

| Same here, regina. Of course you have to consider the feelings of the second pet owner. |
